Sustainability is important to us, which is why the materials used in our coffins have been chosen for their renewable and biodegradable properties. Materials such as willow, bamboo and cane rapidly regenerate once harvested. Some materials, such as banana leaf and cocostick, are by-products of fruit farming and would otherwise be discarded.
During the preparation of our materials, only minimal processing is needed, and ultimately the production of each coffin is still done by hand using methods unchanged for generations.
Additionally, we offset the carbon used during the transportation of our coffins from Indonesia to the UK under our tree planting programme. This process not only offsets the carbon used during shipping but also helps to contribute to additional carbon reduction in the future, leaving a lasting legacy.
