Seagrasses are flowering plants that have adapted to living completely submerged in water. As their name implies, seagrass is indeed a grass and sea water does play a part in its production. Our seagrass is grown in padyy fields and at a cetain point in the year they are flooded with seawater. Seagrass meadows are carefully monitored by a number of organisations to maximise their potential and long term sustainability.
